How to learn your times tables
Start with the easiest tables, the 2, 5 and 10 times tables, then move on to 3, 4 and 8, and finish with 6, 7, 9, 11 and 12. Remember that 3 × 7 and 7 × 3 are the same fact, so every table you learn makes the next one shorter.
A few minutes every day works better than a long session once a week. Use practice to learn new facts, then a timed test to build speed. Your progress page shows which facts are still tricky, and the practice page can drill just those.
What is the Multiplication Tables Check?
In England, children in Year 4 take the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) in June: 25 questions from the 2 to 12 times tables, with 6 seconds to answer each one on a screen. Our MTC practice works the same way, so the real check feels familiar.
